Coastal Conservation Foundation is a non-profit organisation based out of Mumbai, registered as a Section 8 company since 2019 and is recognised under Section 80G(5)(vi) and Section 12AA of the Income Tax act 1961.

Since the last five years, we have worked tirelessly to bring attention to an overlooked ecosystem and its biodiversity. In a first of its kind project, We have introduced thousands of Mumbaikars to an unseen side of the city through our shorewalks, meetups, events, and digital avenues. Our open-access database has more than 4500 observations of 450+ species found in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area feeds data to 12 global biodiversity databases and has been used by students, researchers and conservationists for their work.

This would not have been possible without the help and support of people like you. 

After working consistently and fiercely as a collective for three years, we are now looking to scale up MLOM’s work for a more sustained effort. We now look to deepen, strengthen and widen our scope across our focus areas. 

Our vision does not view you as just an audience, but as a collective stakeholder in these processes, thereby building a constituency for responsible use and management of coastal habitats.

What will your donations be used for?

Your individual or institutional donations will give us the financial capacity to advocate for and protect the coastal habitats we love. We use your donations to manage existing programmes and start new ones, with a small fraction being used for organisational overheads.  

Donations made by Indian citizens and organisations are eligible for exemption of 50% of the donated amount from their taxable income under section 80-G of Income Tax Act, 1961.
