Coastwise Marine Festival

Coastwise came into existence primarily to make the invisible spaces on our shores visible – the intertidal zone. The following editions of the festival have since expanded to include other marine ecosystems and bring focus to the biodiversity on and off our coasts – where the tide ensures that biodiversity gets right of way.

It is this right of way that we highlight in the festival with activities, talks, workshops, boat trips and of course, shore walks. In the 2020 edition, our events include even more venues outside Mumbai, to open this up to a wider audience. 

Coastwise (2018, 2019, 2020) has been conducted jointly by Coastal Conservation Foundation, Mangrove Foundation and WWF-India.
